The Job Post Highlight Reel ///

There is usually a lot of ground to cover with a job posting and things can get long and dry pretty quickly, so here’s the highlight reel: If you ooze kindness, have experience in the great wide world of K-12 education, consider yourself an excellent communicator, find yourself naturally “selling” your co-workers and friends on the things you are passionate about and could see yourself screaming from the rooftops about a knock-your-socks-off social and emotional learning program for about 40 hours a week- we think you should keep reading (and apply for this job).

About Friendzy ///

Friendzy.co is a female founded non-profit organization committed to teaching the current generation of students how to be really good friends. A few years into developing our programming we discovered the fancy term for this relationionally-based work is social emotional learning or, SEL (more on that story some other time). Friendzy is on a mission to help students develop vital emotional intelligence and social skills like empathy, resilience, self-esteem, goal setting and perspective taking. Our comprehensive programming provides classroom curriculum for teachers, workbooks for students, professional development for the full school staff and family and community resources designed to help parents and caring adults continue the Friendzy at home. We offer both an ideologically neutral and a biblical version of our curriculum which means we partner with non-public faith-based schools, private non-sectarian schools, charter schools and public schools. We’re a small and relatively fresh organization which translates to a scrappy, diverse, agile, multi-talented and FUN team. More than anything, we are a passionate crew determined to walk the talk when it comes to relationships and we are ready to open our arms wide to our next team member.

About this role ///

The Friendzy School Partnership Specialist seeks out and develops long-term school relationships by serving as a program specialist for Friendzy. This role connects with interested schools in sharing and wowing schools, networks and districts with all that is the Friendzy program. This role seeks to understand pain points for each school, share the benefits and research that support the positive outcomes desired by each individual school, and communicate with clarity, kindness, passion and creativity the details of the Friendzy program and why it is the right fit for each school. This role is a mixture of finding the right partners, reaching out in creative ways, presenting the program in a variety of communication mediums (email, zoom presentation, live at meetings and conferences) and developing/maintaining relationships through on-boarding support and thoughtful check-ins throughout their Friendzy journey.

We care deeply about the relationships we build with Friendzy schools and look to this role to help both reach more schools and walk with those schools throughout their Friendzy journey.

The Perfect Fit ///

If we were on a dating show describing our perfect candidate for this role, number one on the wish list is a truly kind individual with a passion for building emotional intelligence, character and healthy relationships in students. We want you to want to tell people about this program. The perfect fit will also take pride in communicating with clarity, attention to detail and intentionality (okay that’s more than one thing but you get it…). Currently 0% of the Friendzy staff are robots and we like proving this in our communication and relationship building with school partners. From emails to zoom calls and some traveling in between this role has a ton of contact with school administrators, counselors and educators so a love of connecting and supporting people is key. Next, a passion for education is incredibly important. Whether you are a teacher looking to transition out of the classroom, a counselor, school social worker or psychologist, recent graduate with an education degree, or have been involved in education in some other way, we are looking for both passion and an understanding of our educator partners. Finally, a desire to sell is needed. We aren’t leading with this for a reason because this isn’t your typical sales role (no door to door vacuum selling I pinky promise). If you’ve ever walked into the classroom next door and said “you’ve GOT to try this lesson! It went SO well!” That’s the selling we are talking about. We want honest, authentic passion for our program (It’s not hard to be passionate once you get to know the Friendzy program).

And a few final things- we hope that you’ll love and appreciate a highly collaborative team that is relationally driven, be comfortable working with faith-based schools, and appreciate the nature of non-profit work where all team members work in a variety of capacities that require lots of problem solving and initiative; we’re not perfect- but we sure are friendly!
