Cancer Research Project This is particularly relevant and calls for setting up cheap, affordable and sustained health care to affected poor people in undeveloped regions with the experience gained in this field, as an urgent necessity has been felt to set up a Cancer Research Centre and Specialty Treatment Centre in a group of Hospitals to be set up under this Project. To start with, it has been decided to take up a pilot project for execution in some selected locations in the North East region to set up a medical Research Centre which will be supported by a fully fledged and well equipped general Hospital. Healthcare facilities in North East areas are unsatisfactory. No facilities for Cancer detection and treatment are provided by which hundreds of Cancer patients are dying every day. Patients often travel to Metro cities for medical treatment. There is an acute shortage of Medical personnel and facilities. The government has to spend huge sums of money as medical reimbursements for those who have to seek medical treatment outside the state yet it covers hardly 5% of the effected, deserving patients thus in result, hundreds of people are dying everyday by failing to get proper treatment as well as early detection of the diseases specially with Cancer. More importantly, on these overwhelming situations, there are no future development scopes set as well as students from some States cannot study medicine within the state because there isn’t any medical institute in the area. “Our vision with this new Project is to beat cancer.
